Welcome to the LITTLE LILLIES Preschool Program, where the seeds of bilingualism are planted in the hearts and minds of our youngest learners. Our program is thoughtfully designed for children aged 3 to 5 years old, offering a vibrant, hands-on, and multisensory approach to dual language immersion in both English and Spanish.
At LITTLE LILLIES, we believe that the early years are a critical window for language development. Our program goes beyond traditional learning by creating a nurturing and immersive environment where children naturally acquire language skills through play, exploration, and meaningful interaction. We ensure that our early learners are surrounded by opportunities to listen, speak, read, and write in both languages, seamlessly integrating language learning into every aspect of their day.
Our curriculum is rich with activities that engage all the senses, from tactile learning with hands-on projects to auditory experiences through songs, stories, and conversations. We emphasize not only the academic aspects of language learning but also the social and emotional connections that come with being part of a bilingual community. By interacting in both English and Spanish, children develop cognitive flexibility, cultural awareness, and a deep appreciation for diversity.
We are committed to partnering with families to empower them to continue this bilingual journey at home. Through our program, parents receive the tools, resources, and support needed to reinforce language learning in their daily lives, helping their children become confident, compassionate, and capable bilingual individuals.
Join us at LITTLE LILLIES, where we cultivate a love for learning and lay the foundation for a lifelong journey of bilingualism and beyond.
A dual language program should not only teach a child to communicate in a target language, but model authentic language for daily life, provide ample opportunity for its use within a safe, nurturing environment, and positively honor the culture the language is rooted within.
Real, lasting learning is achieved when content is experienced through the senses. Activating a network of neural pathways in the brain means providing young learners an opportunity to experience language across many sensory channels, while engaging them in active, energetic learning experiences together.
Our programs are developed for people: Families, learners, and educators. Not the other way around. This program is the response to a real, immediate community need. Pasco County is the 8th largest growing district in the nation, with a large and growing population of native Spanish-speaking families. Instead of forcing our learners to leave their family, culture, and mother-tongue at the door, we believe in education that invites families in.
The 2024-2025 Early Language Co-Op Program will be LILLY's inaugural class of bilingual learners! The hope is to lay a strong foundation in both the native and target languages, moving beyond bilingual speaking and understanding--to lay all of the building blocks for lifelong bilingualism, cultural and familial connection through shared language and community, and deeper roots for literacy through fluent reading, writing, speaking, and comprehending in both the English and Spanish languages.
