We believe that every child is unique, and education is not just about outcomes.
Learning is wholistic, developing the child academically, physically, socially, and spiritually. In this way, there cannot be one straightforward path to learning.
Unique abilities, learning styles, personality types, even personal family preference, partnered with opportunities like Step Up for Students, have drastically changed how families are able to meet the individual needs of their children. Innovation and opportunity in alternative education and support is growing expediently. Great news!
But discovering and navigating these opportunities isn't easy.
Pasco and the surrounding counties have a wealth of outstanding providers, but parents know that each child's needs are nuanced. Finding the right fit can feel overwhelming.
Providers and parents alike are frustrated trying to connect through the noise.
Especially when it's just you on Google at 2am, crying because you feel like nobody gets it and nobody is listening.
Yeah... we've been there, too.
That's why we created the Village in the Valley.

Village in the Valley is a network of parents, providers and professionals serving exceptional youth and nontraditional learners in West Central Florida.
VITV connects families, not only with each other, but directly with local providers who are engaged and making an impact within our unique community. Some of our events and activities include:
We find that it is these meaningful connections which
foster transformational relationships.

We focus on providing learning opportunities for everyone in the Village including: educators, specialists, service providers, AND the parent-educators who steward our learners.
By providing education, comprehensive training, workshops, and opportunities for resource-sharing, Village in the Valley strengthens every essential member of the nontraditional learning community in West Central Florida collectively.

Because we know it takes a Village, we welcome the support of any local business or organization that seeks to serve the community with the same heart as the LILLY Education Foundation. Businesses who create a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment for our families, especially those who provide services specific to our families unique needs, are welcome to connect and apply.
